Coach’s comment (Gab) : It was amazing to see Salma’s dedication and progress over time. We worked with a holistic approach. In the beginning, we focused on training and nutrition. We learned the proper movements and the fundamentals of functional exercises and weightlifting.

In terms of nutrition, we concentrated on understanding her current habits and making adjustments. She quickly developed excellent control over her training routine and nutrition, which enabled us to dive deeper into other areas.

We thoroughly explored recovery and experimented with various sleep protocols to help her regain the energy she had been missing. We also implemented relaxation techniques to distinguish work from leisure and to help her fall asleep more easily.

Through dedication and hard work, Salma achieved significant fat loss and muscle/strength gains, which was incredible to witness.


What is your Name ? Who are you? 
My name is Salma, I’m 32 years old and I work full time in the healthcare industry and I am also studying part-time.   

Can you tell me a bit about yourself and your story ? 
I have a pretty busy schedule with work and school and over the last few years (and particularly during the pandemic), I was increasingly getting into unhealthy habits and felt like my overall state of health/fitness was not great. I would work very long hours and not make time for movement, rest, or making healthy meals. I found it very difficult at some point to get out of this cycle and felt like coaching could provide me with structure and accountability to get back into healthier habits. 

What was your fitness like before training at Studio Fit U?
I always had periods where I was very active followed by long pauses, I had trouble being consistent and incorporating fitness into my life in a more sustainable way. Prior to Studio Fit U I had begun to get back into fitness through going to the gym a few times a week and attending various workout classes, but my workouts were not structured and I was not focusing on other areas like nutrition and sleep. 

What challenges or obstacles did you face before starting your journey with us?
I found I generally had a lack of structure and was not oriented towards any specific goals so I had trouble being consistent, and I also did not have proper form for most of my exercises which made it difficult to progress. 

Why did you choose us initially? 
When I decided to look into personal training I searched online and decided to try Studio Fit U as it seemed like the services offered generally aligned with what I was looking for. I then had an initial free consult and I appreciated the holistic approach that was provided which included going over all aspects of lifestyle and health (e.g. sleep, stress) and discussing specific goals tailored to what I needed at the time, and this was exactly what I was looking for. 

What were your initial goal(s)? (Fat loss, muscle gain, rehab, strength, etc.)
My initial goals were to regain my fitness in general and gain strength as I felt low on energy and wanted to improve my overall fitness level. 

Tell me about your journey so far ? What have you enjoyed the most about the process?
I have really enjoyed the entire process so far. Other than seeing great results, I really enjoy learning more about fitness in general, having a better understanding of movement and my body, and how the positive results influence other areas of my life. 

How is your relationship with your coach? What role has your coach played in your transformation?
My coach Gab has been amazing, very knowledgeable, and supportive. He has really helped me focus on my goals through regular check-ins and adjusting my program to my needs. The sessions with Gab are challenging but always fun. 

What results have you achieved so far ? (More Physical Progress) How long did it take ?
It has been almost 6 months and I can say the results so far have been amazing. I have lost fat, gained muscle, and feel overall much better about my fitness level. I feel much stronger than when I first started. I gained confidence in the gym as I learned proper form and how to target the correct muscle groups in movements. 

Beyond training, what other aspects of your life have changed? (More Mental Progress)
I have seen amazing mental changes as well, the physical and mental improvements are definitely intertwined. I have had a very busy few months and sticking with the program has really helped me navigate the stress and have stronger mental focus overall. 

What do you think of the team and the facility?
I think this is by far my favourite thing about Studio Fit U. The environment is really great and all of the coaches are very supportive, even when they are not working with you directly. I genuinely enjoy and look forward to my sessions. I can’t speak highly enough of the team here and how motivating and kind they all are!

Would you recommend someone to join? If so, why?
Definitely! I am so glad I made the decision to join and I have seen such positive impacts in my life physically and mentally, I would recommend anyone looking for personal training to join as the team is great and will work with you to meet your specific goals.
