Nicholas was the ideal client, disciplined, motivated and a willingness to learn.
He absorbed information quickly and applied it immediately.
As an ultimate frisbee athlete, we tailored his training around his competition days to optimize recovery and protein intake, ensuring he consumed 1g of protein per lb daily, even on rest days.
Once his foundation was set, we introduced a 10% caloric deficit to help him drop body fat while maintaining and even gaining muscle mass.
Throughout his season, we adjusted his training program to meet the sport’s demands, maintaining a minimum of 3x/week in the studio.
Six months later, Nicholas has become a well-rounded athlete and gained in speed, power, endurance and muscle mass.
In his own words, here’s our interview with Nicholas
My name's Nicholas, and I'm a 25-year-old accountant. I joined Studiofitu because I really wanted to see my full potential during what I guess could be my golden years.
What were your biggest challenges before getting started?
The biggest challenges would probably be changing my diet. I have a sweet tooth.
After I graduated and started working full-time, I didn’t have enough time to physically train myself. I was developing bad posture and didn’t feel physically confident about myself... That had to change.
What were you doing before training at Studio Fit U?
I worked out a bit, but I didn’t feel like I was pushing myself as much as I did when I was younger. When I looked up information online, it was hard to navigate through what was good information and what was bad. I felt that if I sought guidance from professionals, it would paint a clear picture of how I wanted to take my physical exercise seriously.
What are the aspects that you appreciate the most at Studio Fit U?
My trainer and everyone else. I like the fact that everyone here is well-educated. It’s a welcoming environment. When I first started going to a public gym, I felt personally intimidated. This place has created a welcoming environment.
What have you achieved by training here?
I was 192 lbs at my highest with 20% body fat. As of now, I am 177 lbs at my lowest with 13% body fat and 88 lbs of muscle mass. I'm pretty lean and happy about the way I look. Everything has improved—it's been nothing but a success since I’ve joined Studio Fit U.
What wins/improvements have you felt that you did not expect?
My mentality has definitely changed. Going to the gym a lot helps me reduce the amount of stress that I experience at work. It really has allowed me to take my mind off work and just completely focus on myself.
Why do you enjoy coming here?
For one, for the tangible results. I like seeing my body improve, especially when I look at myself in the mirror. It’s nice to see that hard work pays off, and it’s nice to break PRs—it’s a feel-good moment. Definitely learning new things too, because I have friends who also go to the gym, and we enjoy talking to each other about what we do.
